The New York Mets shutout the Washington Nationals on Tuesday night by the score of 6-0.  The Nationals could never get anything going against Mets starter Mike Pelfrey as he tossed seven innings and only allowed five hits to improve his record to 2-0.  Aaron Heilman and Duaner Sanchez pitched the final two innings and only allowed two more hits.

David Wright went 3-4 with five RBI including a two-run home run in the first inning.  Carlos Beltran was the only other Mets player to record an RBI when he singled in a run in the 7th inning.

With the 6-0 win over the Nationals, the Mets improve their record to 6-6 and are now at .500!  What do you think Mets fans?  Will the Mets be 3 games over .500 at the end of this week?
