Bauer, the third player taken in the 2011 draft, struck out 37 and gave up 18 hits while walking 17 in 28 2/3 innings. Opponents hit .184 against him. The first minor-leaguer to reach five victories, Bauer lost Tuesday for the first time this season. … SS John McDonald received his second intentional walk in his last three starts Tuesday. Arizona: RH reliever Joe Martinez was optioned to Class AAA Reno to make room for LHP Patrick Corbin on the 25-man roster. Martinez allowed one run in one inning in his lone major league appearance this season. IF Geoff Blum (strained side muscle) was moved to the 60-day disabled list to clear a spot for Corbin on the 40-man roster. … LF Jason Kubel (illness) was a late scratch, so Gerardo Parra started and had a single and an RBI groundout. Parra had hits in all four games of the Miami series, and he has hit safely in eight of his last nine. Kubel has hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games.
